Gordon Holmes, born in the UK, July 25, 1933, died May 24 2025. Joined KMAS in the late Nineties, having retired to an acreage in Barrier after a world-wide career as an Professional Engineer. Known affectionately as "Sherlock", he was an active flyer, work party volunteer and an executive member for a term.

Gordon's planes included Frenzys, Extras, a French Nieuport, even a Catalina Canso.
